The President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Faith Odhiambo, joined the Defenders Coalition in commemorating Mashujaa Day 2025, an event held under the theme \u201cUnity, Resilience, and Activism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her remarks, President Odhiambo emphasized that these three pillars \u2014 unity, resilience, and activism \u2014 are central to Kenya\u2019s enduring pursuit of the rule of law and constitutionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOver the past year, these values have come alive among Kenyans, particularly the youth, who have shown remarkable courage and commitment in advancing the public interest. Their energy continues to breathe life into our democracy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under her stewardship, the Law Society of Kenya has made significant strides in defending civic space, enhancing access to justice, and promoting institutional accountability. President Odhiambo has led reforms that strengthen public confidence in the legal profession and expand LSK\u2019s role as a key guardian of good governance and constitutional order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt LSK, we remain steadfast in protecting human rights, upholding justice, and ensuring that the law remains a shield for all, not a tool for a few,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the nation reflected on its heroes, President Odhiambo paid tribute to Kenya\u2019s great Shujaas, among them Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga and the fallen Gen Z comrades, whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMay unity, resilience, and purposeful activism continue to anchor our shared vision for a just and better Kenya,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
