Hon. Karambu Kailemia has surged ahead as the preferred choice for Meru County Woman Representative, according to the latest Mizani Africa opinion poll released on 2nd October 2025.
The survey revealed that if elections were conducted today, 35.5 percent of respondents would cast their vote in favour of Hon. Kailemia, positioning her as the frontrunner in a race that is shaping into a fierce contest. She was reported to have built formidable grassroots support, with her popularity attributed to her strong stance on gender equality, education empowerment, and community-driven development initiatives.
Her closest rival, Florence Kajuju, garnered 27.6 percent, while Felicity Biriri secured 22.1 percent. Edith Mwirigi followed with 4.7 percent, while 1.2 percent expressed preference for other candidates. Notably, 8.9 percent of the respondents remained undecided, a demographic analysts believe could tilt the outcome of the contest.
Commentators observed that Hon. Kailemia’s commanding lead reflected a growing confidence in her leadership style and her consistency in advocating for women’s rights and inclusive governance. They also noted that her ability to resonate with both the urban and rural electorate gave her a competitive edge over her rivals.
The poll, which mirrored the political mood of Meru County, underscored that the race was still fluid, with the undecided bloc holding the potential to redefine the final outcome. Nonetheless, Hon. Kailemia was widely perceived as the candidate to beat, with her campaign machinery expected to consolidate the current momentum.
