*Eng. James N. Mwangi, EBS, CE, B.Sc. Eng. (Hons), FIEK, MEI, MACEK, MKIM, Chief Executive Officer of Kurrent Technologies Ltd, has welcomed the Government’s decision to maintain the prices of Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene for the pricing cycle running from *15th July to 14th August 2026, describing the move as a prudent policy intervention that will enhance economic stability and protect consumers from the effects of global energy market volatility.
The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced that the maximum retail prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged in accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act, 2019 and Legal Notice No. 192 of 2022.
Under the new pricing schedule, motorists in Nairobi will continue purchasing Super Petrol at KSh 214.03 per litre, Diesel at KSh 222.86 per litre, and Kerosene at KSh 191.38 per litre for the next 30 days.
Eng. Mwangi observed that maintaining stable fuel prices is a significant relief for households, transport operators, manufacturers, farmers, and businesses whose operating costs are directly influenced by energy prices.
He noted that predictable fuel pricing supports economic planning, reduces inflationary pressure, strengthens investor confidence, and promotes sustainable business growth across multiple sectors of the economy.
“The decision reflects sound economic management and demonstrates the Government’s commitment to cushioning Kenyans from the uncertainties of the global energy market while safeguarding economic productivity,” he noted.
A distinguished engineer and respected technology leader, Eng. James N. Mwangi has consistently advocated for policies that strengthen Kenya’s industrial competitiveness, improve infrastructure, and create an enabling environment for innovation and investment. He observed that affordable and stable energy costs remain fundamental to industrial growth, digital transformation, logistics, and national competitiveness.
He further commended the Government’s continued efforts to strengthen petroleum supply security through strategic interventions, including the Government-to-Government fuel supply framework and other market stabilisation measures that have enhanced the resilience of Kenya’s energy sector.
Eng. Mwangi emphasised that energy security is a critical pillar of economic transformation, noting that reliable and predictable fuel prices contribute significantly to the efficient movement of goods and services, lower production costs, and improved livelihoods.
As Kenya continues pursuing industrialisation and technology-driven growth, he expressed confidence that consistent and forward-looking energy policies will continue to support businesses, stimulate investment, and accelerate national development.
His endorsement reflects growing confidence that strategic interventions in the petroleum sector are helping shield the economy from external shocks while providing the stability necessary for long-term growth and prosperity.
